I set up this website Chris Aylward Photography in 2010 to showcase my photography which I create, along with sharing the stories of walks, trips away and so on.
Since a teenager I was happily capturing scenes from across the Welsh Valleys and Brecon Beacons learning my way around a camera and settings. As time went on the hobby began to get a little more serious and I began to appreciate what a wonderful part of the world I live in, The Brecon Beacons to the north, Gower to the South West and then Cardiff and the Vale to the south all within a 40 minutes drive from home. With frequent trips to Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia each year.
Once I was confident at using a camera and knew I would like to proceed and develop my skills and passions, I upgraded to a Nikon D800. From that moment my photography began to evolve into a more passionate hobby and so grew the love of the landscapes of Wales.
Approach To Photography
My most favourable time of day would be dusk and dawn where the natural sunlight is a very pleasing colour and the sky erupts in the most beautiful of colours.
Some of the most photographic locations can be well off the tourist routes so a good hike across the landscape goes hand in hand with the shot.
My most favourable landscape setting and image would be one containing bright vibrant landscapes full of natural light and colour.
I graduated from Bournemouth University in 2006 with a BSc in Product Design.
As well as being an amature photographer for Chris Aylward Photography, I am also a full time Design Engineer for an aircraft seat manufacturer in Cwmbran. My role as a design engineer has funded his photographic venture you see here on this website.

All images you see on this website (except the aerial collection) are available to purchase. Our Etsy page is updated regularly with our new work, though if there is one which is missing, please get in touch. All images can be printed to a size of your choice, far more than available on Etsy.
